Is this a problem or normal?

When accelerating my car sometimes jumps into the passing gear or last gear. Not when I'm flooring it but just above flooring it. In other words its hitting that gear and I'm not trying to hit that gear.Is this because of mods? Or is my tranny shifting too early in that gear? Any help will be appreciated.

Mine has always done that, especially on hills. Hasn't ever caused any problems though.

Are you talking about downshifting? The car's supposed to downshift under hard acceleration... would be pretty boring on the highway if it didn't.

Sound normal. On many cars (not sure about the Max) it senses throttle position. If there is a sudden change, it will react and shift down a gear, this is normal. The other time it would downshift is if the tach reading is too low for the speed.
I have a 5 speed so don't have that problem!
