How much slower is an I30?
I really would like to buy a 96 or 97 I30, but I am not sure if the heavier car would be slower than my past 2 maximas. Both were autos, and the Infiniti would be as well, but I was wondering if anyone knows if the Infiniti is noticeably slower.
Thanks.
Thanks.

My best friend (ebmorgan on this board) has a 96 I30.
Before I got my Y-Pipe, his ride was actually a little bit faster than mine. Of ocurse, now it's not (Until he gets a Y, then I'll have to get N02 :P
This is, of course, only personal experience. I don't know what the actual numbers are.
I also am not sure of factors such as emmissions and such that may be on the 97 Maxima and not the 96 I30 that could cause this.

weight difference??
the stock fourth gen i30 weighs 3090lbs. i think the max is just about the same. i drove an auto stock max for a while before going to the i30, i like saying i have an infiniti, better than a nissan. sounds more prestige, besides i like the styling and luxury features better thean the max's hehe

my car was about .5 seconds behind my friends with 5 speed maximas. But I can run with them, and pass some of them. They may be a little faster, but the "I" looks better and we have a much better service program for our cars (as I look out at my 2k1 I30 loaner).
