1996 GLE, 10 1/2 years. but after it died one day I let it sit for over 5 years, in my backyard, on grass, half the time on deflated tires. Once I realized the aluminum parts of the engine were starting to corrode, and noticed that not only had a penny sitting on the floor had completely corroded but there was even rust starting to form on the computer and other under-dash components due condensation, I decided to bring it back from the dead.
4 new tires, new exhaust, new starter and alternator and some other fixes here and there I've been driving it continuously for the past almost 2 years.
Just need a new windshield, and fix some rust and it it will be almost fully fixed up.

Since I brought/drove her home in Diapers.

IOW.... WAY too long!

The college years have been VERY expensive and the High School years weren't much of a treat either.

Hopefully after college, I'll get a break and not a millennial. LOL

I've had my fully loaded Pearl White '95 SE since I bought it from its original owner 20 years ago, when it had 56,500 miles on it in 1999.

Currently have 204,500 miles on it and use it mainly for errands, rather than a daily driver. She's got some rust on the rear running boards but it is barely noticeable from the side, otherwise, she still looks great on the outside and in the engine bay. The interior is a bit of a different story, as I've let the leather go to crap!

I've just come back onto this site after the CEL came on this week, indicating a P0400 error, so I'm going to be doing some research shortly :-).

Like mikeg75, I've had my fully loaded Deep Evergreen Pearl '96 SE for 20 years. Bought from original owner with 41K miles in '99. It currently has 155K on it and I use it mostly to get away from the van. The paint has taken its lumps in the Florida sun but still looks ok, at least the side not facing the sun.

It's now exhibiting some bucking (engine starts to pull then let's go then pulls again and on) in every gear but don't know why. I can either downshift or upshift to stop the bucking but it eventually comes back. Still enjoy driving the car and hope to teach my sons to drive a stick with it.

'95 Ruby Pearl SE...bought new...about 280,000 miles...hasn't been a daily driver for about 9 years...let it sit numerous times...once for about 2 1/2 years...still purrs although that timing chain is starting to rattle a little...completely redid the underneath about two years ago with a lot of help from this site and esp. CS_AR (thanks again)...about to get some dear damage repaired...still does the triple digits with ease.

1998 SE - bought 7 years ago with 108K miles, now it's with 190K.
Great car, but it was living in NY for the first 14 years, so rust is becoming an issue.

Japanese 30G, 98. Bought it less than a year ago. 49k miles when I got it, now at 54k. No rust. Right control arm bushings replaced. No other repairs to speak of.

Im pretty sure you've Won this one re: mileage, trim, & 5MT.

You've already got Agreed Value insurance coverage on that sweet low mileage sled, right?

21 glorious years, and closing in on 400,000 miles. This car has been a delight to own and operate. Alas, mine will most likely succomb to rust before the motor or trans fails. If I could find another low mileage one I would start over and nearly did earlier this year. Don't flame me but I ended up with 4th Gen yota Camry which again is another nearly bullet-proof platform that is even easier to maintain than the Max. I did surrender many style/cool point in doing so. But its for my college-aged daughter.

Funny story, about her and our Max over Easter break. She goes onto tell me a car with a few males pulled up along side her at school, at a stop light and one of them told her she is way to pretty to be driving a car like this (rusted out severely). I just chuckled as did she. She knows at this point the Max's longevity is a matter of my personal-pride for the service and mileage it has logged. It actually was the car that transported her home from the hospital when she was born.

I remember him posting once about how anyone could be so well off as to use such a fabulous car as the Maxima as a DD.

I have a Cayman S, GT-R, and a McLaren as my dailies, but my Maxima is still my weekend ride.

95SE. Bought new October 1, 1994. 112,300 miles on it, still has the original alternator. Mint condition.

The rear leather seats don't look like they have been used. Absolutely no rust.

Black emerald, DJ2

Differential carrier bearings, seals, clutch kit and CV boots replaced when the transaxle was removed for the job 33,400 miles ago.

Dreaded leaking tranny seal issue.

Still had 50% left on clutch at the time.

Canadian car so it has VLSD or whatever it is called.

Budget stainless steel y-pipe, FSTB, K&N filter, rest is stock

So far almost 7 years. It's a 96 infiniti i30t (as my username suggests lol). Purchased in summer of 2012 as my first car, It had 255k miles on it, now i'm at 375k!!! Replaced a ton of stuff on it, new paint job, complete interrior swap, and multiple engine mechanical parts too over the years. It has served me well and I believe it will for much longer too

I've had the '95 since 1999, and it's outlived a BMW 528i, Mazda3, Corolla, and Mustang v6.

I'd love to see the condition of everyone's 4th gen's these days. Totally have to put up a new thread up for that.

I know some guys are letting theirs rod in a yard. Smh meanwhile I’m still spending a ton getting my car to run. Had it brand new since 97, recently did a 5 speed swap, redid a 2006 3.5 engine with low compression positions and Manley H beam rods, rev up cams and all that good stuff. Need to pass inspection, Once I break it in a bit, I’m throwing the SCer back on.

98 daily driver, Jan. 2004 through March 2012 then project turned rot box until I scrapped it last summer.

99 3rd vehicle, Feb. 2018 to present.

Honorable mention to my dad's 96, Sept. 1999 through 2007 when he bought his 07. It became my sisters car for a couple years then sold to a family friend. I got my license in that car. I learned all kinds of stuff working on it too.

Nissan's quality went down after the year 2000 due to Renault merging with Nissan... So these 4th gen's are the true last Nissans that were bulletproof...Nissan is nowhere near what they used to be these days.

I just got rid of my Rockford Fosgate amp after being in the car for close to twenty years. Just died on me. Had an Alpine equalizer unit that died a year before that.
