Obd system monitors question

How long does it usually take for the emissions monitors to ready up? I have a few codes I cleared to pass inspection and figured a 15 minute drive would be long enough but the evap, egr, cat, and oxy sensor systems aren't ready yet. These DTC's don't usually pop back up for at least a week so I'm thinking drive it for like 2 days and they should be ready?

I have driven the car for a week or more, and still did not have the codes totally ready for emissions testing.

There is a procedure which nissan published which shows how to drive the car so that the codes clear as rapidly as possible.

Might be in the stickies. Or perhaps another member will tell you how to find it.

My smog guy told me to climb to 65mph then let it drop without using the brakes back to 10mph and do that 2 or 3 times.

This thread is 6 months old, I figured out the drive cycle through searching but took too long so I just went a diffeet route to beat emissions

A mechanic told me to drive about 60 miles immediately after he cleared the codes and not to turn off the car during this time.....only probably because the same day I needed my inspection done.

Well it's really alot more involved than just driving 60 miles. There is a certain sequence of driving conditions you must put your car through to the monitors.

The sequence for 96-97 models is located here: http://lyberty.com/car/Maxima_A32_docs/NTB98-018c.pdf

Will the driving pattern also apply for a 96' Infiniti i30 since it shares the same engine as the Maxima?

seeing as how the i30 is identical mechanically in every component I would say yes it should work.
