Paint chips and scratches on new painted bumpers.

Hey y'all it's been 5 months since I had my car from the body shop, pearl white paint, so far it's had hold on pretty well.
Keep in mind it was only the driver quarter panel, trunk lid, and both bumpers that were painted.. rest were original..

Love how shiny it is.. and I want to keep it that way. But as many of yall know nothing is ever perfect in this world, no matter how careful we can be. Luckily anything is repairable with its cost..I am still learning how things work and what to do if something happens to solve the problem to fix it.

My next plan for this car is to fix up the very minior things, such as my 50 door dings around the whole body, most being on both the rear doors.. (20 dings each) ouch.. Lol. Been like that since the day I got the car..
Next is to repair rear headrest on the top where it usually cracks on these cars as well repair a small tear on the driver seat...
replaced cracked passenger clearance light, just cosmetic but still functions and lights. That's all I have left to completely restore the body to its new condition.

Paint chip topic:

Well washing the car today after 2 weeks of cold weather and a lot of rain, not being able to wash the car.. I use fiber cloth towels to wipe the excess water left on it gently.

Well gently on my front bumper, as I was drying it out with the fiber towel.. small chip of the paint came off, I was a bit disappointed but it happens.
Would a paint chip repair shop be able to blend in the paint to make it less noticeable?
What are your experiences with paint chip repairs?
The paint chip is black.
If I were to have it repaired professionally, would it blend in good (not perfect) but less noticeable?

I look on my rear bumper, i have a scratch, though it's not black, more of a clear scratch.. what could I do about this one?

first off, whens the last time you clayed and waxed the car? the paint looks dry as hell, i know i detail my maxy all the time and she never looks like that. 3m compound for light scratches, clay, then meguiar's liquid gold and then get a liquid spray wax like lucas to keep the shine. can't expect the finish to hold up just washing her.

It's been 6 months since I had clay bar and waxed the whole car, but this was before the new painted bumpers and quarter panel, though the body shop usually waxes new paint after installing; but I should do it myself regardless knowing its been done myself, and yeah the pictures, I was still drying off the car. So it may be a bit dirty.

Also the front bumper feels a little rough when touching after cleaning and drying.. shouldn't it be smooth? Bumpers are plastic so.. The rear bumper feels smooth.

Wax and clay bar cannot protect from rock chips but will protect the paint job from fading.. Right? Let me know if this is the case

that's why i said lucas spray wax as often as possible cause it protects the paint against scratches and chips. don't know what auto stores you have, but advanced auto, pep boys, and ebay sell it. after washing or for a quick wipe down you can use it in direct sunlight as well. here it is...

Try to compound the scratch out of the rear bumper, put a drop of touch up on the front chip.

Josh, keep in mind that if you were to get in an accident, you would lose all the money you put into your maxima. These cars aren't worth much, so be careful how much you put into this one car. These aren't bmw's...

well if I were to buy a BMW brand new $50k, and to sell it for $20k in 2 years, yeah a $30k LOSS on a "car" I only spent maybe $4k in 3 years on this car which is cheap really. I understand what ever amount is put into it, I am not getting it back. you should really think what your saying and think of it this way.

I hate when people think "be-careful" how much you put into "this car" but difference is I do it in a responsible manner I know how to budget my $, I save, but don't spend it all on my wants.
but others spend loads on something else that they know they will not get back! $1000 for example on clothes..

Remember, ANYTHING you buy in this world you cannot get it all back 100%, laptops, games, going out to eat, going to the BAR and spending loads of money etc..there's so much to name out there. its like buying clothes, you buy a high-end brand for $150, You're most likely not going to get all the money back, maybe $40 for re-sale if your lucky,

This applies to my car.. whatever I put into, I know already its not going to come back, but I could care less cause I ENJOY it. If I go out and go to a very fancy end restaurant with my family for a table for 12 people, ends up being $600, yeah I am not getting that money back, I ate $600 by eating food! you sure cannot get that back. This applies to this SAME concept, I put money on my car, I will not get it back, I go out and pay $600 at a restaurant, I WILL NOT get that back

Everything I purchase for my car I purchase as if it was a very expensive laptop, expensive clothes, 50 visits overtime at a fast food restaurant spending $500.. many other things you can name..there's too much stuff out there that costs $$$ .. that most likely you will not get your money back 100%. sometimes 0%.

Think of it this way, A vehicle comes with its name brand and its price. Either way you lose money on "vehicles" regardless what car it is.
So what are you trying to say here? A BMW is a break-my-wallet car. This one is a reliable car that looks really well and is fairly cheap to fix up that gets me to point A and B, BMW does not do that. It would cost more to own a BMW so be careful what car you buy. I have heard owners dumping $10k in repairs in 1 year, Yeah my friend... you will not get that back.

My only goal was to restore it and keep it reliable to keep it for 5-8 years., $4k did the job, not put $25k into it. I know alot better than that. I ain't that dumb. If i really didn't want to keep it, I would put 0$ into it. But since I enjoy the car and love the body style, I decided I want to keep it. Which is much cheaper financially. You only live once, Live it.
I could give a Sh*t about how much i spend on my ride cause I love my car. I know there's people out there who spend crazy amounts on other stuff, coming from technology, food, clothing, accessories, TV's.. Etc..you name it. What difference does it make to spend $ on a car knowing you wont get back? when other things applies almost the SAME DAMN THING!

yeah, 3m compound it after you wash it real good, then for the front you use touch up paint, put some on, then wipe off the edges, then apply some more so it's nice and thick. i've also put blue tape around the edges and wet sanded with 2000 grit and applied some clear coat. it takes a day or 2 to do these steps, so don't rush it. let the touch up paint dry overnight and do the same with the clear, you can wet sand the clear if it looks cloudy or too thick, then wax over it.
