So I noticed my car started making a squealing noise checked it out and it seems the clutch piece the holds my ac is off alignment My A/c still blows cold but the noise it makes while driving is horible I Dont want to replace the whole compressor if I dont have to ill include a picture I need to know a good course of action to take and if any one knows were I can get a replacement part I tried to check my local junkyard but they dont have any and they sell complete units.
hmm I need to figure out the diameters I know my compressor is still good the damn thing was blowing cold air just a couple days ago what section of the manual might I find this in I have the FSM downloaded but I just dont know where to look cause there all listed like FA etc.
The bearing within the AC clutch pulley can be replaced without discharging the AC system. You only need to drop the AC compressor a few inches leaving it sealed. This thread gives details on replacing that bearing
The clutch plate on your 99 looks different from the one on my 98. I couldn't remove the clutch plate to replace the worn bearing on the pulley so I replaced my AC compressor and drier yesterday. I'll be recharging it today.

No need to make this more difficult than it needs to be. You need a compressor. Simple as that.
There not expensive new or used. Take it to a shop, pay .7 labor and AC recharge and be done. Trying to replace just the clutch can open another can or worms. I've owned 10 maximas every one of the compressors has made that "Maxima" noise. "Cudos"
Well good news I took the clutch off and were the 2 bolts snapped off I manged to weld the cross bars back in place the fix will work for now. Im probably just gonna shell out 115 bucks for a whole new compressor. Im just confused as to how much pag 6 oil to add to the new compressor and were the drier is and to go about replacing it Ill have to find a guide on all that jazz.
