Coil overs and exhaust

Now that I'm getting a divorce and have my own account, priorities are changing, and I am planning some mods. Because I can smell that my cat is failing (rotten eggs) I am thinking about a cattman or warpspeed y-pipe and Megan exhaust with included test pipe. I am also considering Ksports for suspension, as my Sensen struts are leaking now.

I would appreciate input, but do not want to pay premium prices on a 20 year old daily driver. Also I live in Oregon where there are no smog checks.

I don't even know if Cattman still makes the y-pipes!

Most coilovers aren't worth buying. Too many of them give you a ****ty ride and handling that's no better than stock. You'd be better off with Monroe Quick Struts (and there's an $80 rebate through the end of the month). Gabriel also has a rebate going on until the 25th, and Autozone has an online promo code for 20% off. So you'd get 4 quick struts for $300.

What year is your car? Remember, the California exhaust is slightly different than the federal one, and there is a difference between 95-96 and 97-99.

Magnaflow makes high-flow cats for these cars. They also make a front y-pipe with the pre-cats in them.

Monroe Quick struts are garbage I wouldn't put them in my trash can. The strut mounts fail way too quickly, Nissan OEM are the only ones that should ever be used. I have been riding at stock height for 6 years and I want to lower it, and I also like a sporty feel. I prefer road feel over a cushy ride.

Thank you for the reply but I'm looking for first-hand experiences with coilovers and 2.5" aftermarket exhausts, not on opinions why I shouldn't modify my car.

I wasn't trying to tell you why you shouldn't modify your car. I was merely saying you should do it right. As in, not using crappy parts.

Saying Cattman is no longer available isn't an opinion not to use an aftermarket exhaust. I was merely suggesting something else you would want that is still available. Magnaflow makes a mandrel-bent y-pipe for these cars and is probably what you're looking for. The smoother mandrel bending is the source of the extra power and why you want the aftermarket y-pipe in the first place

The cheapest performance setup worth buying is probably the Tokico HP kit with the lowering springs. Amazon advertises a great price for it, but they are out of stock (but you may be able to lock in the price if you order now, but I'm not sure of their policy on that). Besides Amazon, shox.com has some good choices and good prices.

The Ksport coilovers are crap, and so are Megan/BC/D2/Yonaka (all are made in the same factory in Taiwan). There is little to no R&D going on at these companies and their Chinese supplier.
