There is no OBD port by the fuse block. The connector by the fuse panel is for the Nissan CONSULT scanner, which is totally different from OBD.

Check for a blown fuse. It is a 7.5 amp fuse in the top right corner of the fuse panel.

I no about the nissan scanner. I cant find it. But there is legit a obd1 port hanging behind the fuse panel. 14 pin n all. I tried both obd1 n the obd2 on the passenger side.

There is no OBD I port in the 1995 Maxima. The only port by the fuse panel is the Nissan CONSULT.

Check that fuse. If an OBD scanner does not see 12 volts on pin 16, the scanner will think it is not connected to anything.

The obd2 port is in a different spot on the 95 cars. I understand somewhere on the passenger side.

a Search in the forum might help you find it.

What I'm saying is my OBD two port on the passenger side does not read the codes out because it's a 95 my scanner recognizes it and scans but it doesn't show codes because I guess that's how 95's are. I'm also saying that at the fuse panel on the driver side under the dash there is a legitimate OBD one port hanging the scanner also lights up and recognizes that but won't scan so that's useless I scan using the ECU screw but the only thing that saying is I have a bad O2 sensor because I unplugged the one for the catalytic converter because I straight piped it I'm trying to see if I have more codes then the ECU screw shows.

Before I got the car It was hit on the passenger side at some point and it's life which replace the fender and I guess they hammered the interbody back to shape because the headlight the Hood the fender and the grill don't line up on the passenger side the way it should like it does on the driver side so maybe they had to rewire something and that's why there's a random ODB one port hanging I'm not sure I thought it was weird to.

My 95 IS OBDII, passenger side under glove box, behind radio.
Consult connector in fuse box under side mirror button control.

I think your scanner may be the culprit (assuming your CEL is on).

Listen to us, there is no OBDI port on your Maxima since all 4th gens are OBDII.

Post pics.

Ok my thing is everyone has told me 95 is only part obd2 n the scanner will not pull n show u codes. N my scanner is a cheap walmart scanner but its brand new. All it does n show that there is codes but not say which ones. Does a 95 actually show codes on a scanner or no.

The 1995 Maxima is as much OBD II as any other 4th gen Maxima. The law required all cars be OBD II compliant by 1996. Nissan was not about to make the 1995 different and then have to redesign the electronics for 1996.
