I pulled the transmission, thinking I had a rear main seal leak. But it looks like the oil might be coming from the plug above the rear main seal, an oil galley plug, does anyone know if this can be removed because not only is it a star-shaped socket, it's on very tight and we couldn't budge it!

Yes that is it reverse thread? I'd think standard..can it be removed it's so tight that I can't believe I'd have a leak there

Reverse threads, It very well could be, i would look into the fsm and find what purpose that plug or screw is there for. Id rtv the hell out of it if you can find a solution to the leak.

Thanks lux bro i couldnt find anything in fsm, but i did rtv it lol. the leak hasn't happened today so fingers crossed.
