aight Wet or dry Nos for 99 max

Ok i was planning to buy a 70 shot wet nos kit for my 99 max, and now i hwas told that it is better to get a dry nos kit. Now a shop told me to get wet b/c you receive better gains compared to dry, let me know your opinions and if you anyone has done wet or dry and your experience with them.

i think dry is what blows up engines

do you know the difference, i think dry just dumps nitrous into the intake but thats all it does. wet sends gas and nitrous into engine. ask sx7r he has an awesome set up.

dry kit for maxima's i had a 100shot in my 95 DRY unless you want to get DPI, our intake runners aren't made for a wet shot, except the 2002, soon. start with a 50 and you'll need a walbro gss342 fuel pump and one step colder plugs, heat level would be 6, and EGT guage, and a FP gauge.

he HAD a dry and now he HAS a DPI, DPI is wet but it's a different setup, 6 nos foggers and 6 fuel, one per cyclinder, i'm sure i know him well.

wet- one NOS fogger, one Fuel fogger. bad for longer intake runners, IE maximas. harder to tune, not as safe as wet.

dry- one NOS fogger, uses stock Fuel Pressure regulator to regulate FP and to raise it, better for longer runners, easy to tune, pretty ssafe

DPI- wet kit with ONE NOS AND ONE FUEL FOGGER PER CYLINDER, VERY hard to tune, very safe, lots of money.

Direct Port Injection, directly into the intake path of every cylinder, makes for better nos distribtion, but it's hard to tune and lots of money.

50 - 60 shot dry on stock fuel pump
70 - 100 shot dry with upgraded fuel pump (Walbro GSS342)

Go with NX wet kit. Many people with NOS dry or wet has had problems...I remember 2 or 3 cars last month thought they blew their engine with NOS kits. I am running 100 shot with stock fuel pump and no problems what so ever. I had 100,000 miles on the car when I added nitrous and now I have 25,000 more.

Dry kits are the easiest to tune & setup. They are very reliable. You only have to watch out for back-fires when spraying dry or you will have a melting pot in front of you. Either that or a nice fireworks shows.

Dry is fine for the Max up to 100 shot. I feel if you want to go over a 100 shot, go DPI. DPI is hard to tune. You must get teh same amount of Nitrous/Fuel in each cylinder. DPI is also the nicest looking.

What Up Stevie! I'm still around, but I don't have internet at my new apartment yet, so I don't visit very often anymore.

I'm running a 100 shot dry for right now, though I can't run it now till I get a new VB mod for safety sake. As soon as I get a new job I'm gonna start working on a DPI. Should only cost me about $200-$300 more than what Ive already spent, minus more tuning, but it'll be worth it...

Matt, I would love to hook up with you and have a drink or lunch or something and talk about N02.

I want to do it this summer, but will need someone like you around.

I think I may have met you at a meet last summer. You drive the black 3rd Gen with the VW antenna, correct?

NOS dry manifold, NX wet manifold or direct port all work on the maxima. Just get which ever one that you are comfortable with. With a wet kit, you might able to get away with not using an upgraded pump. With wet kit, all you need is to maintain stock WOT fuel pressure. You don't have to mess with fuel pressure..etc. I think that's much easier to tune than NOS dry manifold kit.

Direct port is different than wet manifold..ie. NX style.

im sorry if this sounds dumb, but ive never dealt with NO2 before, can someone please explain to me or even just send me a link to a good informative web-site about y i would want to get a dpi system over just a dry shot of NO2, if the dpi will do something for me that a dry system wont do, then ill pay the extra money for the dpi, but id still like to understand exactly what the differences are
Thanks,
Tom
