i saw that it should be between 4.6 and 5.1??? mine is original ( 22 years old ) and read 4.2, a little on the low side. on it's way out, clean, or replace?? have had a few issues with idle as of late and still have a p 0300 code, thanks

If you've gone through the FSM procedure of adjusting it to factory spec, and you're getting 4.2, then by all means replace it.

Before you replace the TPS, check that you have 12 volts coming into the sensor. If this is somehow low, a new sensor isn't going to help. Check that the connector doesn't have any corrosion inside it.

well, my mechanic did a thorough scan to get that voltage. cleaning it was going to be my next step. felt like crap so i figured i'd wait and do it on another day. replaced the pcv valve with new hoses and clamps, even though i could still hear a rattle coming from the old one i figured, "eh, it was cheap".
