Ideas for new suspension setup
Ideas for new suspension setup
What's going on guys,
I'm currently in the process of looking to get a new set of struts and shocks because the stock ones I currently own are a little too rough and stiff when driving in rougher conditions. Do you guys have any good suggestions for struts and shocks or perhaps coilovers? I'm looking for a much more softer and comfortable ride.

Tein Advance Coilovers for the 2003 maximas ($650), damper and height adjustable, these are quality at a price you can't beat. Only modification required is enlarging the top lower hole for the bolt. Heard nothing but good things, the 4th gen tein basics are $1000 and they don't have even have the damper adjustment
I just installed my set, waiting to get my car running again i have everything off the car to change valve cover seals and install nwp spacers, broke a valve cover bolt so since i ordered new ones i also decided to do a full tune up while i have the uim off the car

They are pretty simple to adjust doesn't take a manual to figure out but it comes with one, there is a **** at the top for damper I have mine set at the recommended middle setting and I have my heights set at the highest for the least additional stress on the suspension while still getting a healthy drop and reduction in wheel gap.
Ride Height Adjust Range Front (Max/Min(mm/in)): -39/-1.5 ~ -78/-3.1
Ride Height Adjust Range Rear (Max/Min(mm/in)): 20/0.8 ~ -68/-2.7
soon as I get my car running I'll be messing around with my settings. I've heard nothing but good things about how comfortable and reliable these are and when I was looking for what setup to get I decided on these based off what people who actually had them were saying about them and i found it pretty difficult to find anyone with complaints about them or any horror stories

If you are riding on blown OEM shocks, normally the ride quality would be less stiff, and more floaty. Maybe the issue is not with the shocks (well, they have to be replaced either way if blown) but more with your wheel/tire combo (low profile tires, old tires, etc)? Although if that is stock also, you can ignore what I said.
They are quite easy to install if your purchase a kit where they are already assembled. It would probably take only 30mins - 1 hour. Also, there are some YouTube videos online to guide you through the installation process.

Always wondered if the a33 coilovers would work. Thanks for sharing. So the only modification is to enlarge the top hole in the front strut where it bolts on to the knuckle? Does the rear just bolts on?
