no... i don't want to use the dimmer swicth b/c the gauges come with one. i want to control the needles and gauges seperate. if the needles are on low power won't the gauges be fed less power? i need a seperate power source.

No, silly!

The wire on the dimmer switch he's speaking of is the +12v constant. It's simply a power wire, nothing more. It's location is the most convienient for indiglos.

You still adjust the dim of the guages with the switch that came with the indiglos.

Read the HOW2 on www.maximadriver.com and you'll see what I mean.

I am powering my indiglos off of the little light from the dimmer switch - the gauge brightness does not change if I use that dimmer to dim the other lights. The digital control panel controls the dim on the indiglos.

Yeah, that's the one ... I guess I should be a little bit less SprintBot-like next time and elaborate a little.

You're not listening to the answers.

The dimmer switch wire you tap into is simpluy a +12v CONSTANT power wire. If you turn your stock dimmer ****, it does NOTHING to the Indiglos if wired in this fashion.

You would need to use your dimmerswitch that comes with the Indiglos to dim the Indiglos, as you have already stated you want to do.

This power wire is the blue wire going INTO the dimmer switch.

If you tapped into the wire coming OUT of the switch, then that would affect the indiglos when moving the dimmer switch.

Read the HOW2, like I said..all will become clear.
