Camber Adjusting Bolts?

I have a 1998 INFINITI I30.

I went to alignment shop and the tech told me to change the Front-left lower ball joint and Camber Adjusting Bolts. I decided to DIY because they will charge me about 400$.

I am confident to change the lower ball joint after watching several detailed guide on youtube. And I rented 5 needed tool sets from autozone.

And I also ordered the Camber kits from Autozone. But I can not find where is it in repairing book. The closest thing I can figure out is: strut lower mounting bolts. is it true?

Thanks for your kind instruction.

Just talked to the same tech and confirmed my assumption is true.

As I recall, as the car comes from the factory, the bottom bolts on the struts are simply straight bolts, and not the eccentric bolts that allow you to adjust camber. It should not go out of adjustment ...unless you have lowered your vehicle. Did you ?

Yes, Factory setting did not allow adjust.

I did not lower the struts. I will do it at the request of Alignment tech. I never did it before so I am not sure what will be the result. I just plan to put it on and let tech do the rest.

Maybe it will make Alignment easier.

+1

I'm not sure what to think of the camber bolt suggestion. I've had four 4th gens aligned multiple times after suspension upgrades. Two of them are mildly lowered and running H & R lowering springs. No issues getting the front end aligned when using stock straight bolts. Anything is possible though.

If lowered, you may want to consider these.

I decided not to use camber bolt after changing the lower joint bolt. It solved my alignment issue and lowered the vibration on red light.

And I did the alignment myself.

First, I use a string and found that my rear wheels has slightly toe-in. Then I check the FSM and found that it is normal. and the front wheel also need some value of toe-in.
