Turn signal/bumper light options in 17'

Sup guys. Been looking to replace my front turn signals for some time now. When i originally bought this max a few years ago, the turn signals were smoked/grey and very fresh looking. However over time theyve become a tanish yellow color - i suppose just from aging and sunlight. Not sure if they were actual smoked plastic (i dont recall these ever being available) or clear signals that the previous owner treated with a tinting film or chemicals. Regardless, they look like **** now, and need to go - i finally got around to wiring and installing my r34 retrofits chrisman refurbished for me a whopping 3 years ago and having those crusty looking turn signals under them is just an eyesore.

So to the point: its no secret that the small parts aftermarket these 2 decade old cars have has shriveled and become even smaller. Does anyone have suggestions for turn signals? Looking to get ones that are dark colored - ive only been able to find the standard OEM orange, the clears/diamond cut, and black. Orange obviously looks like crap, and although i already own a set of clears that i salvaged from my last max, im not a huge fan of how they look anymore.

The black ones i found look pretty decent - but are rather expensive (~60$ shipped) and i cant find anything on how well light transmits through them. Of course i want them to look good, but I sort of need them to actually function for what they are designed to do in the first place.

TLDR; need opinions on aftermarket front turn signals that are still available these days. Thanks in advance.

PS: this is for 97-99 style, idr if 95/96 have different lights along with bumpers or not.

Have you considered buffing them like people do to the headlights? That would most likely restore them to their original state.

You know.. the thought never even crossed my mind. That would probably work perfectly now that i think about it - unless they were smoked color from some sort of tinting film. I even have all the materials needed left over from when i polished my headlights on my old max.

I ended up finding a set of smoked turn signals on ebay this morning for ~26 shipped though, so none of that will be happening afterall. Ill go ahead and take some before and after pics for shts and giggles when they arrive sometime in the coming week. The lights i have now are shockingly yellow - im embarressed i let them stay on the car for long as i have haha.

The clears/diamond cut - where did you find these for sale? One of mine cracked, letting water in and shorting the bulb, but I can't find clear turn signals on eBay anymore. If you still have yours in decent shape I'll buy them.

^ I looked at your question, and about two years ago I got a set of diamond clears off eBay.. I went ahead and checked to see if they have them anymore. Surprisingly they don't have them on eBay anymore!.. I do see a lot for the 5th gen.

However... I believe they still exist, but outside of ebay.

I found one for you, they have smokes too..but below are a set of clears for $24.

Found a seller selling 4th gen smoke ones actually...just have to really look around. I'm sure if you spend the time you will come across a clear set. It's harder to find them on ebay, I used to just put "95-99 4th gen maxima turn signal's" and it would give me a list of clear and smokes signals.. but not anymore.

Honestly, aftermarket bumper light quality has gone down quite a bit. They certainly don't make them like they used to.

I'm rocking the clear/amber bumper lights that came out some time ago with corner lights that I painted to match. I'm over the clear sets and was never fond of the black sets.

Another option I always thought of would be to paint the bumper lights body color to sort of "delete" them, then wire the corner lights to work both as parking lights and signals.

Saw these on CL for NYC today if anybody is interested: https://newyork.craigslist.org/stn/p...394859313.html

And these R34 Headlights that he's asking too much but says he is negotiable (or her) LOL https://newyork.craigslist.org/que/p...392957226.html

Zero affiliation.
