Standard vs automatic transmission

Standard vs automatic transmission

Hi every one in my car I have a five speed manual and I know there was also the four speed automatic is the automatic good transmissions I prefer standards but I like the maximas and wanted to know if I did but a automatic it would hold up thank you.

Keep your manual. It is more reliable, and much more fun...plus faster.

Sounds like the original poster is just con paring transmissions.

At least I hope so.

Sounds like he is asking how durable the automatics are compared to the stick shift.

I have enjoyed my 5 speed for years. It's a good match for the engines power, and a lot of fun.

Both are reliable. I've personally seen an auto go 350,000+ without being opened up. 5 speeds can do the same, though they seem to need the input shaft bearing replaced before they hit that same mark.

Yes I was just comparing the two transmissions I have always driven a standard and prefer them my next question some cars had diff lockers which cars had those thank you

Ok did all se models come with lockers or just the ones with the A32 transmissions

Most USA SE come with non locking.

Your are asking a.lot of quations. So I'll ask one from you.

Do you have an auto maxima , and want to convert to a 5 speed with locking diff? HAve you done projects like this before?

No I'm not interested in transmission swaps if I wanted a car with an auto I would but one that's why I'm asking I drive standards but I wanted to know if the automatic was as dependable as a standard
