It's a lot work
I would use a heat gun. It will take forever with a hairdyer. The hardest part is cleaning all those residue. You could buy one of those rubber wheels at body shop supply store that are used to remove pinstrips. If not, it's alot of rubbing with your finger tips with goo off.

Re: Re: Re: removing dash kits
No one will buy a used dash kit. After reapplying all those 3M tapes, it might cost as much as a new kit.

Yeah, I can't imagine if you'd resell the kit (if that what you plan) Mine didn't seem very reusable (I also ripped pieces)
It's a biatch getting all the stuff (old adhesive) off, I had the bruised fingers and bloody nails to prove it. Rubbing alcohol helps get it off and preps it for the new adhesive. It lightened up the plastic under though, but if you are putting it over anyway, it shouldn't really bother anything. It took a while and I had my girl workin, Workin, WORKIN'!
(If I only had one of those "rubber thingies" 1max2nv is talkin about...)

Slip strand of fishing line or dental floss under edge (wear leather gloves) and work it back and forth til the piece is separated from the dash...should work well for small parts.

The rubber wheel thingy I'm talking works like a giant eraser. It basically attached to a drill and you can put it up againest all those old adhesive. It should spin off all those junk. I said it should because I saw the product after I already put on the new kit.
