Radio lights
#2
the lights are soldered in place in the radio. It is intended to be done by someone experienced in printed circuit board repair. While it is possible, this is not for the average person. There are places all around the country that will repair the radio, but they are rather expensive.
For less money than a repair service, you could buy a used radio on e-bay.
Personally, I would put an aftermarket radio in the car.

I believe the '97-'99's radios are more durable. Currently have an radio from a 1998 in my 1996 model year car after the lights would come and go in the original radio.

I have a factory single DIN from my "98 that I'd sell - make an offer via PM. It is non-Bose and just a tape player, but it only has less than 10 hours on it !

Frank, does your car have Bose?
If you do NOT have Bose, aftermarket may be the better choice.
If you DO have Bose, get a Pathfinder Bose radio like Chris suggested
+1 if you have Bose!
I have the Pathfinder Bose in my I30, and it is awesome! It also has a 6 CD changer and even RDS, which displays the song title when you're listening to the radio.
