Can't get radio station signal

Have the stock Bose radio in '96 max. Can't get a FM signal for radio. Change out old radio with another Bose because CD wouldn't work or radio. Now have CD working but radio will not. Getting ready to check resistance between conector from back of radio to antena. Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Tim
P.S. Should the circuit be closed or open from the radio to the antena?

Radio is on but don't have a signal. The scan just cycles through the entire bandwidth.
Now, I have a small box mounted in the trunk that has one set of wires running to the antena and the other set running to the back towards the tail lights. Not sure what it is. Could be a computer of some sort.
