Raced my friends Gsr

My roomate just a 97 gsr 5-speed and i bought my 99 gxe auto max like a month ago, so as soon as he gets it he challenges me to a race. so today im taking my car to get my intrax springs on and hes following me to pick me up, we get a light with both side by side, i take off im a little ahead of him off the line but as soon as he hit 7-8000 rpm he would gain a little but as soon as he shifted i would gain half a car on him cause i have longer gears in my max, by the time we hit 85 i had slowly gained one car on him. It was a good race and i think if he had shifted a little better we would have been dead even. But my first kill in my auto max

Don't worry about the high altitude. Just give your time an "adjustment for altitude" like I've seen here before. No one will make fun of you, I swear.

Are you serious?

An auto Max beat a 5spd GSR? I though those GSRs were faster than that? Maybe he was a bad driver? I've beaten one before, but that thing had like 200 lbs of stereo equipment in it. I take most pride in that - I though they were fast?

I beat an I/H/E equiped GSR several times one night at the track. Usually by about .2 sec (approx 2 - 3 carlengths).

No those Gsr are pretty fast once they hit high rpm's, and we probably would have been dead even if he had shifted a little better.

I beat one too

He had I/E for sure, don't know about header. I have an automagic, we started from a red light. I had him by half a car on the launch, we went to about 90. I never was more than one length ahead of him and he never made up the half a length, kinda back and forth everytime he shifted. When we talked later, he told me he was a B18c.

On the street an automagic Maxima can definitely take a GSR. I know because I have done it. However, I wouldn't advise you to race a GSR on the highway, that's where it shines. You will lose to a GSR on the highway if the GSR driver know how to drive.

yeah try a ITR at over 100 - thats a close race... usually have a decent lead below 100, but dang once they get up there - they can pull

No problem, here's the site you're looking for And I'm not sure if I'll be there. Generally everyone says that they're going but no one ever does So I don't know if I want to drive down there and have a whole two cars there. Know what I mean? But if people are ACTUALLY going to be there then I'll go. Anyway, here's the site:

Ryan
Here is a list of the people that are goin:
1. asian_n2o
2. 1/3There2/3ToGo
3. ME
4. jrmaxima
5. 97abmax
6. The_bomb
7. canuk
then there are a couple possables
plus if you go thats 8 and if the other guy in fort collins comes with me thats 9. give it a thought man i think everyone is pretty serious about goin down there.
