horn(s)

Since taking over this 122k mile 98 i30 as my daily, I have been laying on the horn a fair bit at all the Houston, TX F*CKING A**H*LE terrible drivers that are trying their best to F*CKING TOTAL my 20+ year old car...and now one of the horns (high, I think) has failed 100%, and the low (again, I think) is failed like 80% (sounds like its got a hole in the diaphragm).

$83 for the high, and $58 for the low @ infinitipartsdeal.com = $141 + tax & shipping Factory Fix

I wouldn't mind instead installing replacement horns that are REALLY F*CKING LOUD - like (I've been led to believe) Hella Horns or similar might be. Has anyone here installed a "better" horn in their A32 ? Two Hella Super Tones < half the price of two OEMs...

Which Hella (or other) fits the best in the factory location ?

Get your factory horns from a wrecking yard.

Find some Z33 horns. Usually about $40 for the pair used.

Uhhhh Houston....... We have a problem!

It's not precluded to just Houston. Although, probably more Trucks with drivers pretending they are Porches.

These are pretty loud: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2PC-RED-SUPER-LOUD-GRILLE-MOUNT-COMPACT-ELECTRIC-BLAST-TONE-HORN-KIT-FOR-12V/332538499748?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.M BE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3D91c6c9 50ca62443d986ce8253c5825f4%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D4 %26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D401208482374%26itm%3D3325384997 48&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

Or better, These:
Amazon Amazon

Nothing like making obnoxious drivers PAY! LOL

It was obvious even before my truck was totaled out from under me that other drivers would behave differently around me driving my 2003 Silverado than me driving the 98 i30. "Yield to Tonnage" is the only rule that matters around here. The ROADS (oh my God the _Roads_) are in such terrible condition its no surprise everyone drives a truck. Plus - the floods.

End Times my friends.

Sounds like you need a Machine Gun turret mounted through the moon roof! LOL Even that Tonnage disparity right out!

Z33 horn on the right, original on the left. I replaced the left with matching Z33 after this pic was taken.

The Z33 horns came with a grounding spade on a ring terminal through the bolt hole - whereas the A32 horns didn't have any of that. I swapped these grounding pieces over to the car anyways. Also different shank and bolt sizes between the two horn types - but it doesn't matter.

I tried to post a short 6.33 MB .mov video here of the super-pleasing Z33 horns in action but "5 MB limit for this file type".

Thanks for the tip !
