Differences between 99 Maxima vs 99 Infiniti I30?

Can someone tell me if there are any major differences between the 1999 Maxima and the Infiniti I30 other than simple cosmetics? Structural, suspension, drivetrain etc?

I used to own a 99 Maxima which I loved, and I now have my eye on this I30:

I'm just wondering if there are any particulars I need to be aware of that would make it perform substantially different than the Maxima I had--thanks!

On the exterior
-The front fenders/bumper/hood/lights are different although you could swap it all at once
-The rear sheet metal, bumper and lights are different
-The doors and all the glass interchange

Interior
-The dash and trim around the HVAC/Radio are different.
-Misc options are different like fabric on the A B C pillars but an i30 is basically like an SE

Engine/trans
-I think the only difference is fluid filled motor mounts and option for VLSD

I think the muffler is different but interchanges. Exhaust and suspension otherwise are all the same.

Thanks for the response!

In your opinion (or anyone else's on here) would there be any particular reason I should wait for another 99 Maxima vs this I30? Performance wise, feature/option wise, etc?
Thank u

P.S. Seller is willing to meet me @ $1400 on the price so any input or opinions on that would be helpful as well. Thank u

If you don't care about the VLSD which was available on the I30t, then there is no performance difference between the I30 and Maxima. I don't believe the I30 got the upgraded DEK manifold ahead of the Maxima.

Thanks again- is there anything that puts the I30 ahead of the Maxima (aside from the signature rear window sunshade ) or is it pretty much a draw?
If so, I wonder why insurance is slightly higher on the I30....

I have a 98 I30. I love it. You have the swirl valve and NATS that year, like the Maxima. Basically they are the same car. Don't know why the insurance would be different, except they look at the I30 as a luxury car. That's a great price if it's in good shape.

To the best of my knowledge, they are the same car mechanicly, and performance wise.

The Infiniti would be more desirable due to luxury features.

The I30 is cooler and more prestigious

The I30 has an auto-dimming mirror, headrests for the rear seat, and these cool cornering lights. You could get a VLSD on the I30, but not the Maxima (although that combo was available in Canada). The hoods are different, and the I30's hood includes the grille.

If you get the I30, I'd suggest using European Maxima headlights. They are glass and use H4 bulbs. eBay item # 264133859261 and 292639414576
These will NOT fit on the US Maxima!

I hope you don't think 99 I30's have the rear window sunshade. When the body style changed in 2000, only then was the rear sunshade implemented.

Insurance is probably higher because it was a more expensive car to begin with.

And don't forget that the front headrest's tilt!

Looked at it this afternoon- meh. Lots of stuff not mentioned in the ad or on the phone- AC doesn't work, cruise doesn't work, was hit in the left front corner so damage to that fender, corner lens and driving light, etc. Drove pretty nice TBH, nothing perceptibly wrong with engine or tranny. But it did have a wicked shimmy around 70-75 mph and desperately needs an alignment. May be easy fixes but not sure especially the AC... been down that road before in my 99 Maxima and it was not a pleasant experience ($750 to fix.) IMO not worth $1400 to find out.
Why do people allow their cars to get to that condition and then try to sell it for a price as though none of that stuff matters?
You all are correct it did not have the rear window sunshade.

Woo wee but the _shipping_ though...

'bout the same amount as the item to be shipped (the right headlamp's "standard international shipping") = marginally OK
FOUR TIMES the amount of the item to be shipped (the left headlamp's "urgent international shipping") = much too much (and seemingly no way to change it...)
