Where should I buy new O2 sensors from??

I tried to find the 4th gen maintinance FAQ, to no avail.

So I noticed that courtesy parts sells the O2 sensors for 117.09 plus shipping. I called autozone and they quoted me ~75-80 bucks. I would guess that the courtesy O2 sensors are OEM and the autozone sensors are some other brand... but does it make a difference?

So where should I go to get the best deal on a couple of O2 sensors that won't give me any compatibility/quality problems?

Thanks!

Also... I went to autozone.com and checked prices (77.99 each for front and rear from bosch to be exact) and it mentioned:

Related Parts are the items we recommend replacing (or inspecting) when you replace your OXYGEN SENSOR.

OXYGEN SENSOR SOCKET $15.00 each
So do I also need new oxygen sensor sockets? Is it pointless to replace the O2 sensors if I don't replace the sockets as well? When I pay 117.09 from courtesy nissan, does that include the sockets as well, or not?

BTW- this is on my '95 SE 5-speed if it makes any difference.

I believe Nissan and Bosch O2's are the same thing. That was what I was told today. I need to replace my rear O2 sensor and I think I'm going to get a Bosch.

How do you tell if your O2 sensors are in need of replacing.

The code 0707 (meaning rear heated O2 sensor)has gone off on my MIL about 5 times in a row now, so I think it is definitely the problem.

Yeah, that'll do it. I would call Nissan and see the OEM brand name.

So do I also need to buy these "sockets" for the O2 sensors?

I actually don't have a code being thrown at me right now- and I haven't seen a check engine light for 10k miles... but I've had a persistant minor motor "hesitation/hiccup" for the last 15k. When I got the check engine light checked back then they said it was the knock sensor- which usually means it's the O2 sensor causing the knock sensor code, right?
Well do y'all think my O2 sensors might be causing this "hiccup" during acceleration even though I don't have a check engine light?
I've already cleaned out the throttle body, replaced the PCV valve, new NGK plugs, fuel system cleaner (several bottles) and more. After I ran the fuel system cleaner and several tanks of 93 octane amaco the light went away, but the hesitation stayed.

So am I making the right assumption here by going for the O2 sensors? I figure I'll buy the sensors, try them out, if it doesn't change anything I'll just swap the old ones back in and return the new ones. Don't want to waste 250 bucks for nothing!

Typically, it's either your spark plugs or it may possibly be your fuel filter. Sensors are pretty expensive, if you don't have to replace them, don't bother! I know for a fact you can check your O2 sensors. There is a procedure in the Haynes manual (6-15). I would highly recommend spending $15 or so on getting a manual that you will certainly need in future than wasting $250 on something you may not need! The procedure will set off your check engine light which will tell you if your check engine light is working and the procedure will tell you whether or not you have a bad sensor. The procedure is too long for me to type in or I would do it for you....again get the haynes manual!

Depending on your mileage, try and test out the O2 sensors, but if you are already on pretty hi mileage, change em cuz they're gonna need it anyway. I have the sameexact problem, hiccup, hesitation, and I've done everything, fuel filter, plugs, fi cleaner, tb cleaning, and still does not go away, but i do get the knock sensor code, got it twice in about 3 weeks, so its either that sensors or the o2 sensors, 'm gonna replace both(all three sensors, ie F o2, R O2, and knock sensor) just to be in good maitenacne shape, i guess all my income tax $$$ is going to sensors

Hey guys,
have you checked the Air cleaner?

I believe the sockets you are referring to are the ones welded into the pipes. If so, you don't need to replace them.

You won't find ANYONE who will let you return electrical parts. You'd better make sure you need them before you buy them.

I know that i have a bad LF o2 sensor, was it ever determined that the autozone sensor was just fine? Bosch is a good name for that right?

I couldn't say, the only time I had the O2 sensors replaced was under warranty. I haven't heard anything good or bad about Bosch sensors. If they come with a lifetime warranty, I would say get them and pocket the difference from OEM.

Sounds like a plan, anyone know who makes the OEM? Nissan uses a lot of bosch stuff don't they? Like wipers (yeah, wipers and O2 sensors have a lot in common)

So is it to my understanding that sparkplug wear can cause knock and or O2 sensors to register as being faulty? The dealer states that our NGK Platinum plugs are good for 60,000 miles? How valid is this? I usually replace mine around every 40-45,000 miles, whereas each time they have indicated normal wear. 96SE auto 163,024 miles (Amsoil lubricants/filters.
