KYB AGX's, do I need new strut mounts also???

hey everyone I believe I need new struts on my max. I am purchasing KYB's this week and many people tell me that i should replace the strut mounts with the new struts. I have eibach springs on my car also. I have 104k on my max, and my car is gettin a little bouncy. I am starting to feel like i have a honda or something, hehe. Anyways please let me know about these strut mounts, I know that they are like 45$ each from nissan but I get them for cost at 30$ each. If there is a difference in new strut mounts please let me know.

Thanks

Jay from CT

You don't need strut mounts to put the AGX's on your car.

i know that i do not NEED them, but my question was that my friend is a mechanic and says while i am changing the struts i should also change the strut mounts as well. Is that wise, or just a waste on monney?

njmaxseltd has a lot more experience than I do, but I went ahead and bought strut mounts for my car. I got the KYB mounts from Cattman and I figure if it keeps me from having to take out the suspension again to replace parts later on down the line its worth it. Preventative maintenence isn't always the most effective thing, but I like to be overly cautious sometimes. I also live in a dorm and know that I can't just take my car apart if I develop a problem so it's worth it for the peace of mind :/

thanks HYPE, I think I am just going to go ahead and spend the extra $100 on new strut mounts to be safe for the future of my max.

You guys don't need those. You can use the stock mounts. For the extra $100 you can buy a FSTB.
