Constant Ticking or clicking sound coming from engine after sitting for several weeks
Almost one month ago, my passenger front window on my 1996 Maxima with 286,000 miles would roll down, but stopped rolling up. I had not had any problems since new with my windows, except moving slowly up and down for last few years. I now know I should have been lubricating them periodically. So I pushed window up and taped it almost completely shut. In the meantime, I ordered a new Dorman regulator and motor which I am going to attempt installing in next week or so. Hopefully it is worn out motor causing the problem, as all other windows are working fine, except moving slow. I had not driven the Maxima since 6/28, except driving it up the street and back a couple of miles and then decided to not drive it further from fear of window dropping down and constant rain everyday for last month coming in. Also, lost track of time and forgot to even crank it for 3 weeks. This morn I cranked it and no issues with cranking right up, but a new sound is coming from the engine - a constant slow clicking or ticking sound that I hear by placing my metal earphone sound detector on the rear upper manifold cover and other parts in rear of engine, but no clicking sound from the front valve cover. Any thoughts on what may be the source of the ticking sound. I did a video with my phone this morning to record the engine sounds, but do not know how to add it to my post.
