Hi guys, my name is Fábio and I'm from Brazil, I have two nissan maxima in my country, (brazil doesn't have many units of this car).
I have two versions of this Nissan, both manufactured in japan, Nissan Maxima 30 J (it's the basic version in Brazil) engine 3.0 24v vq30de and nissan maxima 30GV vq30de 3.0 (the top version in Brazil).
I'm having problems with the nissan maxima 30J, after turning the ignition off, all the internal lights and door locks don't work, they only work if the ignition key is in position 2. (in short, the comfort module only works with the contact on)
I've looked in the car's harness, if there's a burnt relay, if there's a blown fuse and I didn't find anything like that, has anyone ever had this type of problem?
Or do you know any way I can connect the comfort module directly to the battery to stay always on? (yes I know it's an alternative I want to use only as a last resort)
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but have you checked all the fuses? The labels are likely different on yours, but the fuse locations should be the same. The top middle fuse labeled "ROOM L" should be the fuse for the interior door and dome lights. (The fuse labelled "INT ILL" is the instrument panel lights). I suppose if the fuse were bad they should not work with the ignition On or Off, but maybe with the ignition turned on there is power back feeding from somewhere else.
On a different topic, I think it's really cool that the Brazilian Maxima looks like the US Infiniti models that are more luxurious than our regular Maximas.
According to the US service manual, the common point between the door locks and interior lights are the body grounds, M13 and M73. This is were I would start my search.
