I have some questions about EGR Solenoid Replacement. Where is it supposed to be?

I'm throwing code p1400. After testing the harness with a multimeter and testing the egr solenoid, I ordered a cheap replacement. While waiting I watched a bunch of youtube videos and read threads on this forum about the replacement process. It seems pretty simple. The part arrived and I opened my hood, and realized that different videos have different placement of the EGR solenoid. I assume this is CA VS US emissions. I think I have determined mine is US. Am I missing some parts? Should I go for it swapping these out?

Also,There is also a hose that goes nowhere, located near the transmission dipstick. Is that normal?

Thanks for taking the time to look.

i found the answer to the egr solenoid question.

Still don't know what the loose hose is about. *its the transmission vent

I successfully swapped the solenoid out today. Thanks for the help everyone. Its amazing that there are these 10 15 year old posts on here with so much useful information. Very empowering. This is an awesome resource.

The open hose you’ve pointed out is your transmission vent hose.

Leave it alone.
