that search doesn't help.. I just wanted to know if thicker Synthetic is good for the engine...because I usually use 10W Mobil 1 Tri-syn.

Mobil's 15W-50 doesn't have the energy conserving rating either. Only there 0W-30, 5W-30 and 10W-30

I live in Florida myself and I don't think it will hurt anything but it won't really be better either. When I was building the engine for my '71 GTO (400ci bored .030 over w/ Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, intake, and cam, roller rockers, 750cfm carb, forged steel crank and forged pistons. About 500 HP @ 5000 RPM and 575 lb/ft of torque @ 2500 RPM. Pretty hairy in a street car...)I did quite a lot of research on different oils and pumps and what I came up with is that if the engine is in good mechanical condition it wont require thicker oil. It will help maintain good oil pressure in an engine that has worn out main/cam/rod bearings at cruising speeds. Using thicker oil in an engine that is in good shape can reduce mileage by a couple MPG because the oil pump itself will require more horsepower to turn. This is even more true with synthetics because they don't loose as much viscosity when they get hot.
