cutting regulator
cutting regulator
ok well last night we had a lil meet in my town with a couple people well like 3 matty, baby boy and delio and i was talkin to del bout i heard that their is a fuel regulator on the maximas that when the rpms get to a certain point the gas gets cut off. he told me very breifly that i could cut a wire and this would prevent that. does anyone know how to do this??? also if i get my timing adjusted is that gonna be bad cause their is a guy local who works on all the high class cars and one of them is maximas and he can adjust timing for 20. can i do this?

You are talking about removing the top speed limiter. First you have to determine if you have one. If you have an SE or GLE, you dont have one. If you have a GXE, the ONLY way to find out is to go out and see if you can go over 120mph. If not, hit the link in my sig for "ben's ECU mod"
No, the guy CANNOT adjust your timing. The only way to adjust the timing on a 4th gen is to replace the ECU, dont give that guy any money. Also, find a new mechanic, that one obviously doesnt know what he's talking about.
