AC/Heater air mix door not turning

I have digital A/C. Got an issue of not being able to adjust temperature, its stuck on hot. I looked at the air mix motor while changing temps, saw it move just a little bit one time and no more. Stuck on close to 100% hot.
Does this confirm it's the motor or the door that is malfunctioning, or could it be a sensor or something else?

If it is the motor, can I disconnect the lever connected to the motor from the lever connected to the door by pulling down on the motor's lever? Or would that break the lever on the motor? I'm trying to disconnect the levers so I could manually leave the door on 100% cold because I almost never had to use the heater. I tried pulling down on the motor's lever and it moved a little, but I was afraid to go further in case I snapped it.

Has anyone done this as temp fix?

Wouldn't it be easier to just buy a new blend door actuator and replace the broken one?

The FSM has a procedure that uses the buttons on the digital interface that puts it into self diagnosis mode. It will most likely confirm the actuator is toast. Lots of threads here on this.

Researching is your most reliable friend.

As a temp fix, I think your approach is reasonable and it should work. I've never done it personally, but I'd try the same thing as a temp fix. Your blend door motor actuator is toast.

So I did the diagnostic and it showed the only issue was the blend door. I ended up doing just as I planned... disconnected the levers on the actuator and moved the door to full cold mode... works well. The door also doesn't flop around it seems like, stays in the cold mode, so doesn't seem like there's a need to secure it from moving. I witnessed the motor move a tiny bit in some more testing... it only moves partially and then no more.

And I just got the idea to attach a wire hanger to the blend door lever, and move it from hot to cold as necessary by hand from the passenger seat lol. Will attempt later.
