99 5 speed maxima loose shifting

So I got a 99 maxima just converted 5 speed last summer drives fine no issues the other day I’m driving and coming to a red light I pushed the shifter into neutral but when it came out of neutral it was kinda ruff and now when I shift it seems very loose almost the spring on the linkage is brand new from Nissan so I know it’s not that everything is still fine but for reason it just now since that incident it just feels like a lot loser shifting also since I converted it stick the shifter doesn’t sit in the middle it’s pushed to the right some and when it’s in 1st gear the thing looks like it’s in neutral like I said it does shift and drive fine but it just feels weird now any feedback would be great

And also when it’s in gear it’s got a decent amount of play is it supposed to have play like that in gear I just feel like my linkage is off a bit but idk cause the thing shifts and drives fine

I didn’t read anything about shift lever or shifter linkage bushings.
