98 nissan maxima se gauge cluster
Hello, I have a 98 nissan maxima se. I've been working on and building my maxima but my cluster is throwing me for a loop. Obd2 can't read it and a self diagnostic don't do anything but the tac, speedo, heat, and gas gage don't work but the lights on the dash works (over drive battery engine brights and break lights when on) the tac teeders and the speedo will go up to 20 if I'm going 40 I don't know if I need a new gauge cluster or sensors. I recently fixed the valve cover gaskets and it happened about 6-7 months ago.

I have had issues with my gauge as well. My tach has never worked (auto) it stays supposedly pinned at past 8k, and my speedo will just decide to drop out. From what I've gathered, there are several terrible solder points on the board itself that are known to fail from factory. seems most guys just replace the cluster. I just run mine lol
You guys can't get a new circuit board paper from Nissan if they are still available i am trying get me a new 1 from nissan i am on my 2nd circuit board from the junk yard they don't last long as the new one do.
