What about tirerack.com?

I need new tires and am considering getting them from tirerack.com Has anyone had experience with them either good or bad? What happens if there is a problem with the tires?
Thanks for any comments.

I ordered a set of Kumho Ectra Supra's from tirerack and had no trouble. They arrived within a week of placing the order and were in perfect shape. I had no trouble at all and recommend tirerack to anyone.

I have ordered from TireRack many times, and would have recommended them to anyone until yesterday. I ordered a set of the new Dunlop SP Sport A2s and I'm not happy with them at all. They're rough riding, they su*k in the snow and vibrate whenever it's cold. Anyway, I just wanted to return them for a credit toward a new set, and they refused. I've only had them on my car for 3 weeks, figuring they might break-in, but decided to call yesterday. I'm pretty disappointed that they won't do anything for me. Don't buy from them if you expect customer service AFTER the sale.

I think you should be ****ed at Dunlop, not tirerack. Unless tirerack sent them damaged. Did you inspect them before putting them on? Tires are pretty much like any auto part. Once installed, you're stuck with it. Unless you catch flaws beforehand, you've screwed yourself by not checking everything over. But that situation does suck man. Sorry

Chad,
Those were the tires I was going to order because they had such good reviews. My cconcern was that if there was a problem I would not get satisfaction from either the tirerack.com people or who I used to mount the tires.
Thanks.

Tirerack.com is a great place to order tires from. I ordered my rims from them, it was on time and were on great price too. 1 month later i busted one of my tires by hitting a pothole.. they offered me a brand new tire with 50% off. I would defintely recommend them.

People who ordered just tires from TireRack....

Where do you go to get your tires mounted and
balanced ?

How much do shops charge for mounting/balancing ?

I went to a place called Discount Tire Co. I don't know if they're nationwide or not. Anyway, I bought a lifetime balance and rotation plus since they sell Kumho, I purchased a lifetime warranty for the tire (not prorated...if I get a flat WHENEVER, replacement is FREE). I think total it came to around 120 or 150 for everything (lifetime balance/rotation and lifetime warranty).

Thats pretty cool. It is nice when you see comapnies help out customers after they have been loyal or bought something from them.

I ordered my Kumhos for $300 a set with good shipping as well. I placed my order on a Sunday and received the tires on Tuesday Regarding the tires (or any other part for that matter) it's very important to read reviews to make sure they're what you want. Customer service is important, but it gets very expensive to deal with frivolous return attempts. Everyone expects a low prices with a "no questions asked" return policy. Where you gain in one you usually lose in the other. Personally I usually go for the low prices but make sure I research a topic to death

I've ordered from Tirerack and have had nothing but good experiences with their customer service.

However, I suggest you also see if local shops can match Tirerack's prices. If they can get close (like a few dollars), it is better to purchase from a local shop since you have somewhere to take your car to if the tires end up being defective. And, most local shops include lifetime rotations when you purchase and install four tires through them. That's what I did with Big-O tire, and I got a great deal. The manager at BigO said that if all customers came to him with Tirerack price comparisons, he'd go out of business!
