Amsoil oil and ATF?
what's the best(better) brands of engine oil and ATF?? So far I've heard that Amsoil is the way to go. I'm still not sure about their 25,000mile drain interval claim! Didn't want to post this on the forum but I did a search on Amsoil and nothing useful came up. I could have sworn there was a Oil and ATF analysis up top. Does anyone have it saved?? Any help will be appreciated.

Bill removed the oil analysis spreadsheet recently because of all the crap going on lately here. If you really want it I would e-mail him directly.
Mobil 1 and Redline are both excellent products as well, but as I said I'm partial to Amsoil.

You will find nothing better but it does require some re-education about automotive lubrication and you gotta pay more up front to save money (NO KIDDING) in the long run...It is worth it and you are a better informed motorist/auto enthusiast.

the 25k interval is for cars that do long drives (ie truckers). For street cars, it's generally around 8-12k miles. My car was listed on the spreadsheet Bill had generation (8k miles on my last oil). The oil analysis came back with no bad signs.
I've been using Amsoil for the last few years and swear by the stuff.

Just did my switch...
I just changed my oils...
I bought the car 2nd hand and changed my oils last Friday. It is more to pay up front, but since the switch, I've had no complaints and the peace of mind to know my tranny is in good oil!
Using 0W 30 Synth and Synth ATF.

I did change it after 3,000 miles and the oil was BLACK. I just did my fourth change (105,000 miles on the car) and the oil was a dark amber color, not black, and I went about 15,000 miles this time. And I do use the Amsoil filter...
