black vinyl between the doors to show paint...........??

I have a 4th Gen and I was wondering if anyone has gone and taken the black vinyl tape off the car that lies between the 2 doors to show the color of your car. Now I am not sure if I want to do that due to the fact to see if it looks better or now but anyone know how it looks????? please w/b or email me at nymjayjay@aol.com and let me know how to do this on my max and if it looks good or not......

Re: black vinyl between the doors to show paint...........??

I looks good on darker cars, on a lighter colored car, it may look weird. To remove it, just pull the vinyl off. Do a search, there was a huge thread about this a couple of months back.

I did mine in carbon fiber...everyone thinks they look amazing. I got the idea from my Grandfather's C43 AMG.

I got one of mine off today. It will look nice when I'm done. I did it today during lunch, after the car had been parked in the sun all morning. It peeled right off. But, tonight, it was too cold to get the others started.

If you have dark tinted windows (such as myself- 20% bronze) on a dark car, I think it looks better leaving the black. That way the windows "flow" better with the rest of the car.

How'd you do it?

Did you use the vinyl carbon-fiber look material & custom cut it to fit, or did you buy a pre-cut kit? I was considering doing this too. . .

Thanks.

here's what you do.

Stick on an estimated amount (greater of course) of Carbon Fiber vinyl onto the panel. Then use an exacto or similar sharp too (be sure it's very sharp!) and slice away.

If you do it correctly, you don't damage the paint in the slightest.
