whatever you do, DO NOT buy colored glass bulbs!! mine faded in like a month. I have been using the small blue rubber covers from a local shop. they have lasted me over 3 months now, NO fading at all. The shifter light is also a 194 size bulb, dont forget that one

What do you mean by the rubber covers? How much are they? Are they easy to install?

I've had both my red, green and Super Plasmas

in for well over 2 month... no problems with mine... the colored ones are the cheap generic too!

I've never seen color bulbs fade....

Did you follow the directions on the FAQ above? How easy is it to change the bulbs? Do you have any pics? Thanks man.

wow

i should have put a banner on that page

right now i got red and blue

only thing blue is.. from 0-75 mph
and from 0-4500 rpm..

so it really looks like "redline".. the way it shines

although.. there rubber covers ? i want more info.. i really want the deep blue, jetta dash look.. it's sweet.. the blues i found are like greeinish and not deep blue enough

plus. saw the back of 2k dash... and me and gr8bone could not find bulbs of different colors to fint in there...

i guess we COULD paint clear ones, anyone know more about doing this ?

Yep the instructions on the above post

I think that there are 2 additional bolts underneath the steering column that can be removed to help take out the bezel that was not mentioned in the link... I didn't know about it and had to 'gentle' flex it out... it's tight between the dash and steering wheel... Be careful not to scratch you instrument cluster plastic.

I don't have a digital camera yet... hopefully soon...
I guess my dash is ready for the Christmas season...
two smaller gauges are read... Speedometer is PIAA Super Plasma (really bright white), the tach is green on left and red on right.... around 5K-6K is kinda funky color almost orange... worked out pretty good i guess.. The needle on the tach is noticably dimmer than the speedometer one (probably cuz of the brighter PIAAs)

ok, go to any local shop and ask them to order you the covers in whatever color you want. they ar identical to what the stock bulbs have on them but just a darker color. they illuminate much bluer than stock but not solid, they are more dark aqua color, that looks dope! These will never fade out!! unless you buy glass bulbs that i have seen for like $5-7 a bulbs, thise wont either, the covers were $.75 each.
