Brake Noise?

I HAVE A 99 GXE AND I HAVE JUST NOTICED A CHAIN-LIKE RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM WHAT SEEMS LIKE THE BRAKE AREA. WHEN I PRESS ON THE BRAKES IT SOMETIMES STOP. HOWEVER, WHEN I AM DRIVING, THE NOISE RETURNS. I AM ALSO EXPERIENCING AN AWFUL SQUEAL FROM THE REAR BRAKES WHEN I BACK UP. IF ANYONE KNOWS WHAT THIS IS, WILL MY WARRANTY COVER IT? PLEASE HELP!

Re: Brake Noise?

That chain-like noise comes up when the brake pads are worn out. Warranty will not cover brake pads replacement.

yEAH MAN THAT CHAIN noise means you need new brakes. If you wait any longer you might hear a squeal coming from the brakes. If you go to like Auto Zone they have a warrenty you can buy. If the brakes go bad with in a year you take them back and they will give you new ones.

Actually most of Autozone's pads have a lifetime guarantee at no extra charge.

Yes, buy they emit massive amounts of brake dust.

I still think Nissan brake pads are very good. I have tried several other brands and ended up going back to stock pads.

True, and I wasn't really reccomending them, just pointing out that if you're cheap you can buy them once and just return them when they wear out and get new one's for free.

We had a brake job done on the front wheels. When I stop, I hear and feel a vibration in the front. It is more pronounced at higher speeds and harder braking. Has anyone had this problem?
