Simply stated, i looked through history for info about y-pipes and its apparent that my already loud mufflar will be even louder..which is not what i want, I WANT POWER......this resonator piece that you talk about...does this rob my power? i will want a quieter sound....

 

If it robs hp, its probably not enough to worry about. I have y-pipe, no cat, and a Greddy catback, and I never can hear my exhaust over my intake when I'm at wot, and when I am cruising down the Interstate, I hear very minimal drone. Just thought I'd put in my 2c. Maybe you should re-evaluate your muffler?
