if your engine was bolted directly to your chassis it would be incredibly harsh and vibrate like CRAZY...the purpose of motor mounts is to dampen the vibrations and absorb other movements of the motor. Motor mounts are made to make the car quiet and smooth.

use caution with urethane mounts

Loren00miata had some urethane mounts and a few weeks later, his clutch started slipping. Wether it was caused by the motor mounts is not quite for sure, but he took them out, and from what i gathered, no more slippage. This would happen because more force would be placed directly on the tranny/(clutch???) because as opposed for the engine to be able to move around and a bit of energy to escape, all energy is going directly to the tranny.

Justin I think you need to read a little more (or at least listen/search) before you post sometimes. Loren's clutch was slipping because he is blown. With the urethane mounts there was so much power getting transferred to the wheels (and the wheels were getting traction) that the clutch slipped because something had to give. Loren said that the mounts would probably work better on a NA car, but that you do feel them more than the stock mounts. If lowering my car doesn't eliminate enough wheel hop I may even buy the mounts from Loren.

I don't mean to say you don't know anything Justin, but lately I've seen lots of your posts that could have been answered with search. From my experience oftentimes you can learn more by lurking and asking questions on related posts rather than by asking simple questions. People don't mind answering questions, but it's a lot more interesting to read a developed thread than "Which brake pads should I buy" or are "KYB GR2's good?". Knowledge comes with time
