Greetings my fellow maxima members. If anyone is looking for good quality reasonably priced brand new cv joints go to www.raxles.com these guys were very helpful with my inquiries regarding my 96se auto. For all you Florida and or southeast coast members they are located in Gainsville! My VQ now has 164,665 miles Oh and these cv joints come fully assembled, you just have to pop them in. I got a quote of roughly $129.99 for each side. The dealer is "F**kin" incredible!!!!!!Sometime i wonder if all of their dogs are barking? I mean they really try to screw your wallet! Not including the absurd $80.00 dollars per an hour for their laborous "milk it" abilities. Best Wishes

Is that including a core charge?

Perfect timing. I just noticed a slight leak on my driver side CV boot. I plan on changing both axle half-shafts on my aged 156k max. I'll give these guys a call and hopefully shipping won't be too much.
Thanks.

They dont do a "core charge" but they include a UPS return label, so you can put your old axle in the box and ship it back to them. They trust you to send your old one back, if you take too long, then will assess the "core charge."

Chances are they gave you an axle with remanufactured joints. Raxles come with brand new joints, precision fit boots, and Amsoil synthetic grease.

Very high quality stuff.

Do you know where they got it from? If they got it from AutoZone or another parts store like that, it was most likely a newly remanufactured axel. I think they cost about $70, which would make sense for what you paid.

And there's nothing wrong with a remanufactured axle. They are typically good enough for the job.

How long did your factory ones last? My car has 62k with stock axles, and my old car has 90k with stock axles.

Are you offroading a lot or something strange?

My factory axles died around 95k miles. The local shop had to order reman axles and those only lasted 35k miles.

Yeah, i just installed the Rancho 4" suspension lift along with me 2" body lift.LOL

Nah, I changed the stock ones @ ~ 92K, and now @ 159,the nwe remans r done, but the boots are the ones that died and led to their initial failure, on these and the orig.
