Buying Used Body Kit...(Some Q's and Your Opinion Needed) --->

Hey guys,

I'm looking into buying a body kit from a member here on the .org who will be selling his car soon. First off, I need your opinion. He is currently accepting offers on the kit and I really don't know what to offer. He says that the kit has been on his car for about 8K miles and has a few minor rock chips in the paint. Other than that, it's in pretty good condition. This is the Stillen Kit for a '97 Maxima ... can anyone give me an idea of what to offer? I don't want to lowball him, but I also want to offer enough to beat out the other guys that already made offers.

Also, how would I go about installing this body kit since it has already been installed on another car. I'd imagine that the seller would include all the rivets necessary for installation, but I'd have to pick up some 3M double-sided tape too, correct?

Thanks for any help,
-Nick

If I'm gonna pay $700, then I'm out. I can get it new for just over $700 (I believe) from Avalon Racing or Phuong.

I was hoping somewhere in the $500-$600 range, but I really have no clue what to offer.

Does the paint job match your car color? I assume yes...The paint job alone is going to be over $200...

I'm assuming the paint matches your car.

New + painted is going to run you at least $900. I'm also assuming this is a local buyer to you. Shipping of the stillen body kit is a pain, because of it's size. Shipping charges of its size cost a LOT. Normally from Avalon, or Got Rice, they fold the kit up, and you just take a heat gun to it to get out any of the bends. This isn't practical with a painted kit, so unless it's local, you could have problems with shipping.

If I sell mine I'll want at least $600 for it ..
