there's also some kit that somebody posted about, which supposedly gets rid of the mildew in the A/C vents that causes the nasty stink.. do a search on it.
I'm also interested in getting rid of the smell, so post if you find anything good

2) Squirt about 1/2 a bottle of Simple Green in through resistor block hole.
3) Turn system off and let stand for the amount of time needed to drink a beer.
4) Turn the A/C back on, fan on high and spray about 1/2 bottle of fresh water in resistor block hole to flush system.
5) Replace resistor block and enjoy the nice fresh smell!

If its a mildew smell try spraying Lysol into the out side intakes. Yo keep this problem away I always use the vent. Keeps fresh air always comming in.
Re: Re: Re: a/c cleaner
where is this resistor block? and whre did you get the simple green?
about using lysol, isn't it dangerous for your health since you are about to inhale it?
thanks.

Run your blower on high, windows down and stay out of the car ... that way you won't have to worry about the killing power of Lysol

Resistor block, kneel down in front of the passenger front seat and look under the dash. You'll see the wiring harness snap onto a square-looking holder held by 2 screws.
Unscrew the two scres (no need to disconnect the wires) and the blower motor resistor drops right out. You'll be able to access the blower motor unit from this opening.

Is either way particularly more effective than the other? I've cleaned it through the intake with some A/C spray a little over a year ago. But about a month ago, some idiot egged my windshield and got some into the vent. Recently, the wet mildew smell has started to return, so I'm thinking of giving it another flush.
Would hitting the blower motor directly through the resistor block be more effective? Is it possible to damage the blower by spraying that stuff into it? I figure I'll spray from both places as long as I know the blower motor won't get damaged.
