i was thinking of buying those 16" SE replica rims (not by nissan), once i save enough money. are they good quality or just crap?

i don't know who makes them, actually ebay is where i found out about them - bid starts at $1.00 so i figure maybe i would be able to get replicas cheaper than oem, but not if they are going to chip, etc.

Actually the guy on the link I gave you with the reps. charges more because they are harder to find. Try looking at the dealer 2001 takeoffs. I got them from ebay and they came like they are factory fresh. which they were.

My thoughts.

I don't want you to waste your $$$ and get rims that are way out of balance, or poorly casted. Please consider that getting rims from a no-name manufacturer might be questionable, UNLESS you have had previous experience with the particular retailer and know you can return it if things ain't right. Also, rim shipping sin't cheap.

I would opt for buying used Nissan rims from the FS forum. My 0.02

I don't have specific dealings with this or any other replica rim manufacturer...however:

It is a known fact that if company "A" makes oem parts for another company, like Nissan, they "might" make aftermarket parts under brand "x" to make extra money, since they have the mold already. Nissan will charge more for the rims so actully the price of the replicas could be the price they really should have been. In reality they "could" be the exact same rims.

Again, I am not saying this is the case, just don't knock all replicas because sometimes they are the real thing. Basically when it looks too good to be fake.

I'll probably do what you did and get oem one's that haven't been used much. I don't feel like dealing with the chance with the replicas - shipping IS very expensive for rims!

The shipping price goes according to where you live.I am in NY he was in Conn. 30.00 shipping. UPS. The average i have seen is 75.00.

don't get those wheels, every soccermom has them already, find something else you like or get rims from a new maxima.
