Help! What is the most logical method for cv joint axle remove/install?

Hey guys, what is the most appropriate method for the removal of cv joints (entire axle replacement on both sides). Also how long would it take and what tools would I need for the job. And what side should be removed/installed first. Please all experiences and or methods are welcomed. I am in the process of replacing mine, and I just want some insight. 96se all amsoil lubricants/filtration, Redline Water Wetter, Dunlop SP 5000's.

Best Regards

There's really only one method. It's long, so I suggest you scrape up the $15 for a Haynes manual.

Get new axles from www.raxles.com

Dont be tempted by the low priced Autozone axles, they arent worth the effort.

You need to do BOTH sides at the same time. you have to punch out the axle (held by C-clip) on one side (can't remember which side), and to do that, the other axle has to be out.

Thanks, i am well aware of raxles.com products. They even have a good instructional regarding cv joints, but i just wanted to get a direct perspective from the members. Tell me about it Autozone and Pepboys rebuilts are no good, to name a few! One of the techs at raxles.com told me that when they these auto parts stores rebuild them. They file down too much metal and then turn around and use larger than original ball bearings to make up the difference. Raxles are all brand new! Thanks again guys!

You have to remove the right side to get the left side out...
