beat by acura gsr.

last night me and my girlfriend were heading to town when we pulled up to the 4 way stop sign we meat up with an acura, i had no idea what he had, rumor is that there is an acura gsr running around our little town of idaho falls that has a superchager on it but i don't know what it looks like, i didn't think that he was going to try anything so me and my g/f were just talking, when i looked in the rear view, he was coming up along the side of me full bore so with nothin to lose i punched we kept up pretty good (but still losing) i knew there was no chance so i let off. good race i guess but its my first beating.i pulled up next to him at the light he said that i was 2001 gsr didn't mention anything about any mods kinda acted funny when i asked i he had done anything he just changed subject.
What can you do to a 95 auto max with borla cat-back and K&N filter, to even keep up with these guys. i'm racing a 2000 honda civic si (as soon as the roads get better he wont race untill spring i guess he is to scared of a little snow) but do you think that i have a chance against him
thanks
Mike

Well actually ya a 95 auto max would probably lose to a gsr...I would know I have one and I race maxima's all the time. I always lose to BrianV even before he had a SC...so check out his mods. If you race an Si I guarentee you that you will obliterate him. Si's are VERY slow. Good Luck!!!

i've raced my friends 00 Si plenty of times and whomp on him each time. there was a local gs-r (he sold it for a civic hb) and he had intake/exhaust, maybe a few little more mods. both times we raced, i consistantly beat him, not by a lot, but it was definitely a decent win. i dunno if he knew how to drive or not at that time tho. he went to a drag strip a few months afterwards and had 14.9's. i know my auto couldn't prolly do 14.9's. who knows.......

Borla cat back? I didn't know they made them for Maximas. Did they custom make it for you? How do you like it?

Im from IF!!

ANOTHER ORG MEMBER FROM IDAHO FALLS!!!! I think I am going to faint!! What do you drive, who are you? I know everymax in IF, I just bought one and havent gotten it yet. 99 SE, Loaded. Wow, are you in the White GXE with Altezzas? If so I am the guy that talked to ya in Checker the other day. If not, WHO ARE YOU?

BTW,
I had a 96 SE and 94 GSR 4 door at the same time. I raced my wife, her driving the Auto Maxima and me in the GSR, shifting left handed while talking on the cell phone, and with not so good a launch, SHE WALKED me! I think the GSR is certainly a better track car, but it is harder to drive fast. Maxima a better road car. My Honda Accord Coupe, nice to look at, and NOTHIN else. My Expedition Eddie Bauer, nice to cruise in....oh, OT sorry. Well, tell me who you are, I will keep my out for your car!

Yes racing him from a start the results might be different, since he already ad alot of momentum. I actually beat a GSR 5spd about 2 months ago in my 97auto on the way home from work.

Both of these cars are pretty even, my buddy has a 97 gsr 5-speed, and we have raced 4 times, first time i was stock and i am also a auto, we went from 20-80 and i had him by a car, then we raced three times from 0 to 60 (I had CAI this time) and he beat me all three tims by maybe half a car if that, But he also shifted alot better that time. So it all depends on the driver, b/c otherwise the cars are very close in a race. so people that have raced a gsr in their stock automax and beat them, the driver in the gsr probably wasn't that good, if modded then thats a different story.
