Whats the difference between aluminum rims, alloy rims?

There is no such thing as an Alloy rim. Aluminum Alloy, yes.

Alloy is a term used to describe a mixture. Additives are added to the pure aluminum when it's in it's molten state. The end result is Aluminum alloy.

well, if the term "alloy rim" is used it is implying a mixture, so an alloy rim can exist, hence aluminum alloy you used as an example....

yes definitely. you can have an alloy rim made of titanium and nickel. that would be a titanium-nickel alloy rim.
