Well after 5 1/2 yrs my maxima car battery finally died. I must say I was pleased with it lasting that long. It also gradually died on me so I had ample time to get it replaced without having to be stranded on my daily 35 minute commute.

My question is what was the cold cranking amps for the '95 nissan maxima car battery? The replacement I got is 630 cold cranking amps so I was wondering if that should be sufficient for the cold snowy erie,pa winters?

Don't worry 630 is plenty enough to start the car. Think about it this way...the stock battery was 375CCA is something like that. Manufacturers always cheap out and give the battery just enough power to start a car...Nissan is no exception.

YEs he was right about the low amps for batteries coming from the factory. The primary reason (except cost) is to reduce mftr liability that a higher voltage batery would bring. Ford had problems with their in the past and faced class action suits. BUT, unlike ford mftr batteries, Nissan's last more than 18 months.
