well the agony is over.
I bought my 95 SE max over two weeks ago and due to some stupid reasons the paperwork was delayed and FINALLY
i get it today and i can't wait to drive it. ( got to get it registered first).

So i've been on this board for reading and drooling over the mods that have been done and i can't wait to get started.

First though i would like to make sure the car is running 100% b4 i start modding the motor.

The cars got 95K miles on it and i plan on giving it a full tuneup just so i can keep track of service records.
This is what i plan to change.

NGK R platinum plugs
change oil
new pcv valve
new gas filter
got a stillen cone filter (pop charger?) on order

is there anything else that i should do?
i also think the timing chain tensioners need to be changed cuz i hear this slight clanking noise from that area.

well i'll keep you posted on my mods.
i'm takin the car to the autogear show next weeks hope to see some of you guys there .

Thanx in advance

See if the starter was ever replaced. Mine went at 60k miles so I imagine your okay but if not, keep an eye on it. Other than that you should be good to go! Enjoy the ride and I'll see you at the meet!

I did a tune-up on my max 2 months ago when it had 96,000 miles on it. I replaced all the fluids\filters and accesory drive belts. The biggest improvement for me was the brakes. I replaced the brake fluid and bleed the system and now the brakes are working great. Before I did that I would have to press the brake pedal to about the halfway point to get strong braking. After I replaced the brake fluid now I get strong braking about 1/4 way down. Don't forget to check the brake pads and the condition of the brake lines.

Also check your two engine coolant hoses and the smaller hoses as well. I replaced all of mine just to be safe after 4 1/2 years and 96,000 miles.

I don't think that any one year has a bad starter. . . (I may be wrong) it all depends on the age of the car and what conditions it is under (such as if you like to try to start the car a second time once it is already on! )
