ABS or Not?

Who has ABS and who does not? I am getting a 4th generation but I want ABS, no matter what.

But... What if I find an SE that has everything else (price, miles, leather, color, etc...) but no ABS...

Do I really need it? It works pretty good up here in NE during the winter...

abs works yes ... it works that your wheels don't lock and you have absolutly no control over where your max goes ... i live in NYC and i was approaching a stop sign in the snow and my abs kicks in ... i still slide and still get into a pretty large accident ($4000 is pretty large ... what i'm trying to say is if you get them don't take them for granted if the road is slippery you will still slide

ABS is worth it. But, with a Max, where it was an expensive option, I'm not sure that no ABS would be a deal-breaker for me.

I don't have it, but I wish I did.

ABS has saved me several times. Without ABS I would of gotten into an accident. I was | | close from actually hitting the cars infront of me, but the ABS really helps.

97 SE, no ABS, surviving NE winters so far. Have never had a car with ABS and have never wrecked a car in snow, though I did launch one off a bridge in high school

I recommend getting ABS. It will definitely help you a lot in the snow and wet weather. I know its hard to wait sometimes when buying a car but I'd try to find one with ABS.

Would highly recommend ABS syst. Unfortunately with all the options in my car, I'm still missing ABS. Got a bold spot one of my new Pirelli tires when my front wheels locked up...I guess thats what I get for not having ABS syst, even though it seems like the car is slightly faster without it.

I don't have it, but with my two previous cars that did, I only engaged it twice. So unless you are a maniac driver(I'm reformed after my last accident ), you don't realy need it.

The only vehicle I ever had with ABS was a '92 GMC Typhoon (320hp turbo AWD factory lowered Jimmy, update of the Grand National). GMC's ABS sucked big time. It almost killed someone when my brakes simply failed to engage in reverse; I had to slam into drive and smoke tires to stop from flattening the guy to a wall. I imagine ABS systems are better now (at least non-GM) but I've never missed having it. I understand it is pretty trick for the autocrossers, though. Maybe next car ...
