hey everyone, ive got a 98 maxima SE 5spd and im putting a 97 I30 vlsd 5spd in, the tranny bolts up but i cant seem to get the passenger side halfshaft all the way in , the splines do mesh up but i cant get the bearing mount for the half shaft to line up. i was told that they would definately fit and for it to be 2 mm off is kinda discouraging. if anyone has any info on this please let me know.things like mounting the half shaft then sliding the tranny on to it might work , but ive already got the tranny mounted and the engine mount member bolted up. thanks for your time

hahhahahahaha....sorry for laughing. For the LSD trans, the driveaxles are different. i got te VLSD axle and spent over 2 months getting the right axles...it sucks

 

so will the VLSD axles fit or what?

the thing with Keven97SE is he isnt 100% sure he has the VLSD trans. i think he said they used the stock driveaxles. if this is true i dont belive e actually has a VLSD trans. According to Mitchell manual, Nissan dealers, Nissan junkyards, and a few shops i dealt with, VLSD and non LSD tranny uses different axles. Not sure if BOTH are different or juss one is different.

 

When I had to replace my trani, I was told the VLSD was the same price as the open trani but would need different axles. Since I was expecting the Quaife to come out, I stayed stock ...

 

alright then , im going to order the passenger side one tonight at work, we'll see if it fits. does anyone know if you can get the c-clip at the end of the driver side half shaft seperate from the shaft?? i think i need a new one
